Cedar & hardwood
Clear-grade western red cedar, hand-selected board by board. Board-on-board, lattice-topped or horizontal, finished with a penetrating oil rather than paint.
Three decades of cedar, wrought iron and estate gate work for homes where the fence line is part of the architecture. One crew, one foreman, one standard of finish — every picket set by hand and every post plumbed twice.
Four disciplines, one crew

Historic ironwork stripped, repaired and re-hung; original pickets saved wherever they can be. We document condition before any work begins.
Selected commissions
The same foreman is on your property from the first stake to the final walk. We do not run two crews and we do not take a job we cannot finish properly in the season we promised it.
“They matched the ironwork on a 1908 house so closely that our neighbour asked which panels were original. Nobody can tell, including us.”
“The foreman was there every morning. Three hundred feet of cedar and not one board is out of line.”
“They handled the architectural review, which we had been dreading, and it was approved first time.”
“The gate has opened twice a day for four years without a service call. Worth every penny.”
A consultation takes about an hour. We walk the line, look at the house, and talk through material and detail before any number is discussed.
Your request is with the studio. We will telephone to arrange the consultation, usually within two business days.
