Hardpan

Earthwork, done quietly and finished clean.

Hardpan Excavating Co. grades, trenches and preps sites across the valley. Small crew, careful operators, and a site left tidier than we found it.

Services

Site preparation

Clearing, stripping, cut and fill, and compaction to the engineer's spec. We stake the pad, shoot the grades and leave you a set of as-builts.

Grading & drainage

Yards that hold water, driveways that wash out, basements that seep. We fix the fall first and let the landscaping follow.

Utility trenching

Water, sewer, gas, electric and irrigation laterals. Locates called before we break ground, backfill compacted in lifts, sod put back.

Driveways & culverts

New gravel drives, crowned and ditched, or base prep for paving. Culverts sized to the drainage rather than to habit.

Demolition

Sheds, slabs, pools and old septic removed and hauled, with concrete recycled where the crusher will take it.

Approach

Two machines on site, not six. It costs less and it shows.

One crew, start to finish

The operator who staked your job is the one who finishes it, so nothing gets lost between visits.

Priced by the job

Fixed price on residential work once we have walked it. Hourly only if you ask for it, with the rate written down.

Left clean

Track mats on lawns, mud swept from the road, spoil hauled the same week. Neighbours should not know we were there.

Licensed & insured

Licence #EX-1180, $2M liability, workers' comp for every operator. Certificates sent with the estimate.

“They put mats down before driving on the lawn. I have never seen a contractor do that.”

S. Ledoux · Millbrook

“Fixed price, finished a day early, and the invoice matched the estimate to the dollar.”

K. Brandt · Brandt Homes

“Two swales and a dry well and the back yard has been dry for three springs.”

T. Ngo · Valley Road
